Handling your divorce on your own
You and your spouse may decide to handle your divorce on your own or pro se especially when the two of you are in agreement. You can obtain forms and information on the Minnesota District Court website www.mncourt.gov. They are designed to be self-explanatory; there may even be instruction guides.
As you work through the process; however, you may have questions specific to your needs. It is not uncommon for a spouse who handled the divorce pro se to be in my office after-the-fact because the language of their divorce is unclear or ambiguous. Correcting these issues after-the-fact can be costly and time consuming.
